  • Donations for the Christmas for All campaign totaled $205,005, the highest in four years and nearly 30% more than last year, showing strong local support for programs that help with housing, education, and health.   • The Dancing Through the Decades Meals on Wheels event raised nearly $12,000 to help feed seniors and offer safety checks in Post Falls and nearby areas. Local sponsors, volunteers, and organizations contributed + made the fundraiser a success.  Coeur d'Alene Press
  • North Idaho Veterans Village is collecting donated RVs to help homeless veterans. CEO Amanda Yount said the nonprofit already helped Navy veteran Terry Glinnon secure safe housing in Spirit Lake — and will soon buy property in Bonner County to expand the program.  Coeur d'Alene Press
  • Michael Kelly, who nearly drowned at age five in Lake Coeur d'Alene, met the teenager who saved him on New Year's Eve 2024 after posting his story on Facebook, finally closing a 40-year mystery.  KXLY

  • About 50 people attended the Panhandle Nordic Club’s Best Hand fundraiser on Saturday at Fourth of July Pass Park and Ski Area, with only 4 inches of snow — below the needed 1 foot — leaving trails muddy for cross-country skiing.
