- ➤ Nearly 400 people attended the Red and Blue Gala at The Coeur d'Alene Resort on Saturday, raising $236K for a foundation that funds mental health programs and supports local first responders. - ➤ Local business Mik's Night Club is closing after years of serving the community. The owner announced a final farewell event & operations will cease soon. KXLY
- ➤ Idaho coin shops have seen a surge in Washington shoppers since a 10% tax on gold, silver and coins was imposed on January 1; local businesses now plan to stock more precious metals as customers travel here for better savings. KXLY

- ➤ Timberlake High Tigers won the Backwoods Brawl spirit competition on Jan. 17 against Bonners Ferry, marking their ninth straight win as students organized themed spirit days & collected 3,304 pounds of food for local charities. Coeur d'Alene Press

- ➤ The Office of Highway Safety is accepting applications from local organizations for traffic safety grants (Fiscal Year 2027). Applications are due by Friday, Feb. 27, 2026 and selected projects will start on October 1, 2026. KHQ
