A new monthly column by Alexcia Jordan introduces the Kootenai County Fairgrounds as a treasured community hub where families gather, youth show their animals, and traditions meet progress.
The column celebrates the fairgrounds’ heritage & ongoing role in connecting North Idaho residents.
Post Falls church officials announced a redevelopment that will rebuild the church to include affordable housing for local community members.
The project is expected to start in the coming months and aims to provide both residence and community space — details will be updated as work progresses.
🌲 Environment
Restoration efforts removed a dam at Big Creek in Shoshone County in late 2025 to reconnect native fish to former spawning grounds and allow the creek to heal.
Multiple agencies — including the Coeur d’Alene Tribe and Sunshine Mining Company — plan riparian plantings this spring.
