- ➤ Grocery Outlet opened its store Thursday morning at 2588 N. Highway 41 in Post Falls after a ribbon cutting that drew hundreds of shoppers and included a $1,000 donation to TAILS Foundation. - ➤ Chart-topping country artist Bryan Martin—supporting his upcoming 13-track LP dropping April 4—will perform on May 1 at Nashville North in Post Falls as part of his Years in the Making tour. Coeur d'Alene Press
- ➤ The Music Conservatory of Coeur d’Alene will host three events that take listeners on international music journeys; a reception with Latin American music, food and wine will begin at 5:30 p.m. (April 5) at the conservatory followed by a piano concert at the Kroc Center Theater. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Perry Christianson resigned as the college's fourth president on March 12, 1968, effective Sept. 1, and the board quickly began its search for a replacement. Barry Schuler was hired on July 8, 1968 and later led efforts that resulted in changing the name to North Idaho College when Gov. Cecil Andrus signed the bill on March 8; the new name took effect on July 31. Coeur d'Alene Press

- ➤ The Idaho Transportation Department will begin resurfacing an eight mile section of I-90 between Wolf Lodge and Fourth of July Pass next week to improve road safety and extend the roadway's life. The project will last two years and will reduce traffic to one lane per direction with lower speed limits. Coeur d'Alene Press
