COMMUNITY NEWS

  • A Community Forest Tree Planting Day will be held on Saturday, April 12th from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Q'Emiln Park Trailhead. Volunteers will walk one to three miles to plant seedlings in the Parkway Fire burn area and will receive tools, supplies and lunch—RSVP is required.  KXLY

BUSINESS NEWS

  • HeatPraxia reopened on March 29 at its new location—1090 E. Lakeshore Drive—after a January cold snap caused a flood that resulted in $300,000 in losses and mold issues at its former facility on 404 E. Sherman Ave. Owner Heather Gallegos said the larger space offers extra saunas and a bigger cold plunge pool, and over 250 members attended the grand opening.  Coeur d'Alene Press

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Idaho Gov. Brad Little signed a law to block unauthorized immigrants from accessing certain public services and to require state agencies verify immigration status for more benefits—emergency services remain exempt. The law takes effect July 1 and follows votes in both the state Senate and House.  Coeur d'Alene Press
  • On Friday, lawmakers passed Senate Bill 1210, a revised medical freedom bill that bans mandates for medical treatments in businesses, schools and government settings; the bill now heads to Governor Brad Little, who has five days—excluding Sundays—to decide his next move.  The Spokesman-Review
