CRIME NEWS

  • At a hearing yesterday, a judge allowed prosecutors to use body-camera footage from an August 2022 traffic stop in which Bryan Kohberger asked why a deputy needed his driver’s license and phone number—parts of the tape may be cut out. He explained that measures like the Only Citizens Will Vote Act and updated ID rules—allowing out-of-state licenses for identity—aim to secure elections while sometimes making registration harder.  Coeur d'Alene Press
  • Idaho Gov. Brad Little signed a bill on Friday that increased the budget for the Office of the State Public Defender, which was formed last October to consolidate services across 44 counties.
