- ➤ A coalition of local conservation groups including the Kootenai Environmental Alliance and Trout Unlimited has asked the Canadian Environment Minister to form an independent review panel to examine Glencore’s proposed Fording River Mine expansion, since Idaho’s Kootenai River is already impaired — the minister has until April 23 to decide. - ➤ The U.S. Forest Service announced a plan that will consolidate Idaho’s forest management into a single state office when the current fire season ends.
