  • Ninety-four veterans from the Inland Northwest departed Spokane International Airport before sunrise today on a community-sponsored Honor Flight to Washington, D.C.—they will return Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. as the group visits memorials to honor their service.  KXLY
  • Egg hunts and other Easter activities start today across North Idaho as families get ready for the holiday on Sunday — events include scheduled hunts at local venues in Post Falls, Coeur d'Alene and other communities with added features like photos with the Easter Bunny. EDUCATION NEWS

  • North Idaho College Foundation announced that fewer than 2,300 tickets remain for its 32nd annual Really BIG Raffle drawing, which offers prizes including a new Post Falls home valued at $520,000 and a 2025 Subaru Forester worth $32,000. Those who purchase tickets at $150 by April 30 will qualify for early bird prizes (two $1,000 Costco gift cards) while supporting student success at North Idaho College.  Coeur d'Alene Press

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • A conservation group named Clearwater River number 7 on a list of America's 10 most endangered rivers because a new management plan for the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests threatens water quality and fish habitat along 700 miles of the river basin. The plan—approved January 10th—allows active vegetation management on areas that once had extra protections, including the Middle Fork which has been a National Wild and Scenic River since 1968.  KXLY

  • Post Falls City Council voted Tuesday night to deny Chris Briner’s plan to annex a 4.630-acre parcel at Poleline Avenue and Maguire Road — the council cited concerns over its proximity to a commercial area and the need to widen nearby roads.  Coeur d'Alene Press
  • A $2.5 million water project near Ponderosa Elementary is nearing the completion of its design phase as project manager Jaxon Fleshman previewed the plans during a City Council meeting Tuesday. Phase 1 will replace about 5,680 feet of water main and construction documents will be bid-ready by spring while staff work with the school to coordinate summer schedules and maintain neighborhood safety.  Coeur d'Alene Press
