🚨 Crime
Teresa Borrenpohl has filed a $5 million suit against Lear Asset Management + Kootenai County Sheriff Bob Norris after security dragged her from a town hall in Coeur d'Alene in February when she voiced her dissent, and five security staff are now facing charges.
A woman captured in a viral video being dragged from a town hall filed a notice of tort claim against a private security firm and the Kootenai County sheriff for $5 million — she said the incident harmed her physically, psychologically, and reputationally in front of 450 people.
Kootenai County now has 90 days to respond, a delay which will let her move forward with further legal action if no answer is given.
🏛️ Government
Kootenai County will close the public beach and boat launch at Hauser Lake on April 28 for road repairs and the Post Falls Highway District will repave the road—allowing the park to reopen on May 6.
🏈 Sports
Meridian’s Bridger Labau won the 2025 Leadman Triathlon on Saturday by finishing in 53 minutes and 22 seconds as he beat 274 athletes in cold, rainy, and snowy weather.
The race—which began with a ski, then an 8-mile mountain bike run and a 4-mile finish—raised funds for Kellogg Rotary and drew competitors from several counties.
