CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Rachel Berger, a Hayden bookkeeper, was convicted of tax evasion, perjury and grand theft for embezzling over $162,000 from her employer—she received a suspended 15-year prison sentence with 10 years of supervised release, 120 hours in jail, 300 hours of community service and must pay over $70,500 in restitution. - ➤ Allie Anderton, a former school board trustee, was arrested by Post Falls police Sunday morning at 1 a.m. near Beck Road and Expo Parkway for DUI and drug paraphernalia after officers noted signs of intoxication and drug use—she resigned from the board on Wednesday. Coeur d'Alene Press

- ➤ The North Idaho College Music Department will present the free Swing into Spring jazz concert at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Schuler Performing Arts Center on campus at 495 College Drive + the event features the Coeur d'Alene High School Viking Jazz Band directed by Jim Phillips under the direction of David Blink.
