  • North Idaho College students are hosting the Hospitality Hoedown benefit for CDAIDE on Saturday from 6 to 10 p.m. at the Coeur d'Alene Eagles+ the event will offer donated dishes, dance lessons and raffles with tickets at $15.  Coeur d'Alene Press

  • The Bonner County Sheriff's Office is asking for help finding 32-year-old Joshua Charles Snyder from Oklahoma, who is charged with rape and attempted strangulation and has worked on construction sites in Ponderay and Spokane + he drives a 2020 silver Dodger 3500 with Oklahoma plate QDM811.  KXLY

  • North Idaho College graphic and web design students graduating in May will host the Next Level Portfolio Show from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at McLain Hall, 460 N. College Drive, while four students earned awards on April 12 at the Spokane American Advertising Awards Gala—Gracie Duncan won Best of Show and a gold 'Addy' award for her BearRabbit Taproom logo design.  Coeur d'Alene Press
  • Idaho has launched an improved Report Card website to let families track how local schools are doing. The site lets users compare details (like student progress and school demographics) so that parents can understand school performance better.  KXLY

  • A federal judge ordered Idaho prison officials to let media witnesses see the steps—preparation and administration—of lethal injection drugs, ruling that public access is protected by the First Amendment.   • A federal judge ruled Tuesday that Idaho prison officials must let media witnesses see the preparation and administration of lethal injection drugs—part of a First Amendment lawsuit by news organizations. The order requires the department to install a closed-circuit audio feed before the next execution—while no execution is scheduled now.  KXLY

HEALTH NEWS

  • New data from the Alzheimer’s Association showed that nearly 30,000 Idaho seniors had Alzheimer’s with only 20 geriatricians available in 2021—forcing home care aide numbers to have needed to grow by nearly 30% by 2023. In Washington, 127,000 older adults had the disease and home health aides must increase by over 14% by 2032—pointing to a deep care shortage in the region.  KXLY
  • Today, Hospice of North Idaho is looking for a new home for its thrift store that funds hospice services—its current Seltice Way location will lose its lease in November. Executive Director Eric Ladwig said the ideal new space would be a large building that provides room for sales and sorting donations while keeping the store comfortable and accessible.  Coeur d'Alene Press
