  • Lake City Center named retired drill sergeant Nancy Phillips as executive director after she began as a volunteer in 2020 and advanced to lead the center with a focus on kindness and strong leadership. ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • On Friday, multiple brush fires broke out along I-90 near Coeur d’Alene likely because of hot brakes or trailer chains dragging behind a vehicle—firefighters said the fires are drying up and advised drivers to secure trailer chains.  KXLY

  • Twenty-two school bus drivers competed on an obstacle course in the Post Falls High School parking lot Saturday in the annual School Bus Road-eo. The top two drivers will advance to the state contest — the winner will move on to Nationals — an event held every year since 2006.  Coeur d'Alene Press

  • Nonpoint source pollution is harming water quality in the Lake Coeur d’Alene watershed as urban runoff, farming, logging and residential development add nutrients, sediment and heavy metals to local water sources — agencies, tribal groups and conservation partners use Best Management Practices and EPA Clean Water Act funds to reduce contaminants.
