- ➤ Rathdrum has seen more than 3,300 new residents since 2020, with nearly 1,000 arriving last year, and this fast growth is changing the town from farmland to housing while causing heavy traffic, few sidewalks, and housing shortages. Local leaders voted 3-1 against a 500-home project and must soon address issues like sewage treatment and infrastructure as growth continues—concerns that affect the local way of life. KXLY

- ➤ Spirit Lake Fire Protection District is asking voters to approve a levy to help maintain and upgrade its emergency services - the vote is scheduled for next week. KHQ
- ➤ Idaho asked the federal government Friday to approve a ban on using SNAP funds to buy soda and candy—House Bill 109 was passed to encourage healthier choices. Governor Brad Little said the Department of Health and Welfare has submitted the waiver request to secure the change. KXLY
- ➤ The U.S. Department of Commerce pulled funding for the Spokane Aerospace Tech Hub when it rescinded Tech Hubs program funds last Friday & began a re-competing process to ensure taxpayer dollars are well spent. Local officials, including Mayor Lisa Brown and Congressman Michael Baumgartner, said the decision delays aerospace projects in our region and could extend the process by over a year. KXLY
- ➤ A U.S. Census Bureau report shows Post Falls ranked 70th among the nation's fastest growing cities after an 18.6% increase (adding 7,195 residents to reach 45,800) between 2020 and 2024.
