- ➤ 16-year-old Addy Jasmin and her friends stopped near U.S. 95 15 miles south of Coeur d’Alene on a warm Sunday afternoon and found four frightened kittens abandoned in a crate with a small amount of food and water. They drove the crate to Coeur d’Alene, where by May 21 the kittens were adopted — officials stressed that abandoning animals is illegal — after the rescue. Coeur d'Alene Press

- ➤ Lewis-Clark State College announced its spring honor roll that names Kootenai County students, including those from Post Falls such as Alycia Carter, Joel Collie, Isaac Elonen, and others, on its president's and dean's lists — the school recognized outstanding academic achievement across multiple campuses.
