  • Millworx & the Post Falls Chamber of Commerce are hosting a dedication ceremony for a new clocktower at the roundabout at Fourth Avenue and Idaho Road tomorrow from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the steps in front of Kindred and Co., where a walking tour, open house and remarks will honor the site's past as the Idaho Veneer Mill of the early 1950s.  Coeur d'Alene Press
  • The Post Falls Museum and Historical Society has reopened ahead of summer at 101 E. Fourth Ave. It is open Wednesday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. until the last Saturday in October – members can schedule special tours by appointment.  Coeur d'Alene Press

EDUCATION NEWS

  • At North Idaho College on Monday evening, the inaugural North Idaho Women and Their Money Conference awarded 20 $1,000 scholarships and featured a keynote by money expert Ellen Rogin who introduced tools for financial empowerment. About 360 local women attended the free event and took part in sessions and demonstrations while winners such as Latasha Collings expressed excitement upon receiving their certificates—highlighting a day of opportunity and renewed confidence.  Coeur d'Alene Press
  • Michael Marshall, a Christian Center School senior, earned one of only six full-tuition Honors Scholarships from Whitworth University—valued at over $200,000—and will study pre-medicine there while planning to become a pararescue jumper in the U.S. Air Force.  Coeur d'Alene Press

  • The Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office presented a $54 million proposal for fiscal year 2026 in a meeting with county commissioners Tuesday, which included about $4.5 million in new funding for extra personnel and jail costs. Commissioners will soon review the details and expect six months of data on technology used to catch suspects — sheriff Bob Norris said.  Coeur d'Alene Press

  • In Kootenai County, the median price for single-family homes reached $543,366 in May as 922 homes sold and properties stayed on the market for an average of 96 days, up from last year.
