Joey Campbell, a 44-year-old from Worley (a member of the Coeur d’Alene Tribe), died in Kootenai County jail on May 30 and police are investigating her death as her family awaits an autopsy report.

On Thursday, Elevate Academy North hosted a busy student showcase with graduation festivities and a silent auction of yard art that raised $1,875 for Safe Passage — a nonprofit that aids survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, human trafficking, and child abuse.
Culinary and welding students prepared food and provided live auction updates for visitors.

Northwest Infant Survival Alliance and SIDS Foundation received a $25,000 gift from First Interstate Bank’s Believe in Local campaign to support families after a pregnancy, infant or child loss (nominated by employees Carolyn Deitz and Corrin Wallace).
The donation will help the nonprofit continue offering emotional support and free prevention education to affected families.
