The Kootenai County Sheriff's Office held a free community barbecue in Coeur d'Alene on Saturday with K-9 demos, a drone team, first-responder equipment and a SWAT vehicle.
Residents also met county fire and rescue teams, toured a Marine Patrol vessel and visited a vendor fair—providing a fun day for families.
Denver, a 5-year-old Tibetan Mastiff from Hayden, attended last Saturday’s Dog Days of Summer-Fest in Stoddard Park with owner Cassie Beyer and fellow dog Chewy, who is training as a ranch hand.
Rescued from neglect in San Antonio and later adopted from a Los Angeles shelter, Denver now lives a safe and happy life (about 100 people gathered for pet booths and a K-9 demo) as local pet lovers enjoy these community events.
🏛️ Government
An Idaho proposal may sell nearly 22 million acres of public lands if a Senate bill passes.
The plan calls for selling 13.2 million acres of USFS land and 8.4 million acres of BLM land — with 90% of the profit going to the U.S. Treasury — while Idaho senators oppose the change.
