  • The Idaho Transportation Department reported that fatal impaired driving crashes in 2024 fell from 105 in 2023 to 86, an 18% decrease, though impaired driving still accounted for 36% of fatal crashes with most victims being the impaired driver, passenger or pedestrian and drivers 30 and under involved at high risk.  KXLY

  • North Idaho College added $273.2 million to the local economy in fiscal year 2023-24 — supporting 3,992 jobs — according to a study published this week; the report detailed that former students’ earnings, college operations and student spending together returned $4.50 for every dollar invested.  Coeur d'Alene Press

  • At Hayden Lake Country Club on Friday, the Fair Foundation awarded $19,000 in scholarships to 14 students—part of nearly $140,000 given since 2016 to support students in Kootenai and Shoshone counties in paying for college or trade school.  Coeur d'Alene Press

  • Sacred Heart Children's Hospital is renovating its lobby to improve patient care and comfort—hospital officials said the project will update the facility with modern designs over the coming months. The renovation will enhance efficiency for patients and visitors.  KXLY
  • CDC data shows that about 20% of children in Idaho are not current with measles vaccines. Health officials reported that measles cases increased in 2024 and 2025 due to low vaccination rates and international travel and advised parents to consult their healthcare providers about vaccination and safe travel.  Coeur d'Alene Press
