Kootenai County Fire and Rescue invites residents to join a procession on Thursday and Friday at 10 a.m. to honor Battalion Chiefs John Morrison Jr. and Frank Harwood lost in an ambush on Canfield Mountain—neighbors are encouraged to safely line the set route starting at English Funeral Home and continuing on 3rd Street, Sherman Avenue, and Coeur d'Alene Lake Drive to the memorial location.
🚧 Accidents
A 61-year-old Coeur d'Alene woman was injured early Tuesday morning when a 48-year-old man from Hayden ran a red light on Hwy.
53 at Prairie Avenue in Hauser—pushing her Ford Escape into a Kenworth semi truck—resulting in her hospital transport as police said the intersection was blocked for about four hours.
🚨 Crime
A Coeur d'Alene man named Jorge Luis Pabon-Delgado, 58, was sentenced to 15 years in prison for trafficking meth after officers found more than three ounces of the drug in his apartment+ he dropped a bag during detention while on probation for a DUI, according to the Kootenai County Prosecutor's Office.

A rehabbed bald eagle was released Monday at Rockford Bay after spending eight weeks healing from a broken shoulder at Birds of Prey Northwest.
Conservation officer Mark Maret and volunteer Don Warren used sticks—a towel and jacket to help guide the bird—to ensure its safe return near Black Rock Marina and Shooters Bar and Grill.
