- ➤ The 'Hearts for Heroes' golf tournament and free concert will be held Monday at the Club at Prairie Falls to benefit the families of Chief John Morrison, Chief Frank Harwood and injured fire engineer David Tysdal who were impacted by a brush fire on Canfield Mountain on June 29. The event will open with a silent auction at 9 a.m., followed by a sold-out golf tournament at 10 a.m.—with a free full concert donated by Tamarack Ridge Band—to support first responders while suggested donations are accepted. - ➤ After United Way of Spokane County closed after more than 100 years, United Way of North Idaho is moving forward and expanding services for families across North Idaho. - ➤ The Idaho Community Foundation announced Monday that it awarded $82,000 in education-focused grants to nonprofits and school districts in North Idaho — with Growing the STEM serving over 800 students and United Way of North Idaho providing monthly childcare scholarships for A.L.I.C.E. families.
