Lake City Playhouse reopens with a revival of 'Grease' after a 28-year break.

Director Brooke Wood, a former cast member of the 1997 show, leads the production which opens tonight at 7:30 p.m.—bringing a cherished part of the playhouse’s history back to life.

Today, a report from the National Low-Income Housing Coalition and Idaho Asset Building Network found that renters in 38 of the state's 44 counties must stretch their wages—full-time workers need $27.83 per hour to afford a modest two-bedroom home while many earn only $18.81 per hour. The report warns that low-income families face tough choices between paying rent and covering basic needs and urges Congress to expand housing support.

Idaho senators introduced the Graham Hoffman Act after a June 29 attack on North Idaho firefighters that killed two battalion chiefs and injured an engineer—this federal law would make it a crime to assault first responders and impose up to 10 years in prison or a life sentence if the assault causes death or involves kidnapping.
