The 17th annual Backpack for Kids event will take place this weekend in Post Falls.

The General Store in Post Falls celebrates its 80th anniversary and will host special events soon to honor its longstanding role in the community.
The 33rd annual SilverHoops 3-on-3 basketball tournament took place this weekend at Kellogg’s City Park — attracting over 900 players on 226 teams and thousands of fans.
Post Falls’ own Tim Mitchell led his division to victory as dedicated volunteers and sponsors helped host this record-setting event.
🏛️ Government
The Idaho Economic Advisory Council submitted Post Falls’ application—located along North Pleasant View Road and West Seltice Way—to Gov. Little’s Office for Opportunity Zones tax credits.
Gov. Little will decide by Sept. 28 if the area qualifies for incentives that spur local economic development.
Due to forecasted high-fire-risk conditions, Avista warned local customers that a Public Safety Power Shutoff may occur Saturday if weather worsens.
The utility will provide daily updates and crews will inspect power lines before restoring service.
