- ➤ The Post Falls School District announced that Superintendent Dena Naccarato will retire in 2026 and that Anna Wilson will serve as interim superintendent for the 2026—27 school year—other administrative changes were also revealed on Monday. The district has appointed Janelle Baillie as assistant superintendent for secondary programs, Scott Ross as assistant superintendent for elementary programs, Mark Mason to lead Post Falls High, Tabitha Booth as principal of Post Falls Middle, Trayce Hemenway at Mullan Trail Elementary and Sarah Triphahn as interim principal at Ponderosa Elementary. - ➤ Selkirk Fire & Rescue warned that budget cuts could force a drop in firefighter staffing so that in 2026 there might be only one firefighter on duty. A heat advisory is in effect from noon Monday to 8 p.m. Tuesday for areas including Post Falls — residents are advised to drink fluids, stay in cool spaces, and check on neighbors. KHQ

- ➤ Candidates for the Rathdrum Police chief role met with dozens of residents at a public event to share their ideas for handling the city’s growth.
