During Lemonade Day on July 26, local youths in Kootenai County served drinks and treats while raising funds for charities including Make-A-Wish Idaho, the Red and Blue Foundation, and the Thirst Project; Jaxon Lupton raised over $4,200—his stand dedicated to his late sister—and several participants from Post Falls plan to host more stands this summer.
A restored 1960s AMF pedal car and fire extinguisher will be raffled—benefiting firefighting families affected by the Canfield Mountain incident.
Raffle tickets cost $10 and the winner will be announced at 4:30 p.m. Sept 5 at the Post Falls Chamber Community BBQ.
Community members will join the third annual Dustin Ard Commemorative Steel Competition on August 24 at Fernan Rod and Gun Club from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. to support local veterans and assist the Ard family while honoring Sgt. 1st Class Dustin Ard (a Green Beret who died from combat wounds in Afghanistan in 2019).

State officials said Idaho will keep managing wolves despite a federal judge’s ruling that might restart debates over their endangered status—wildlife leaders plan to review their guidelines soon.
A heat advisory is in effect from noon today to 8 PM PDT Tuesday in Post Falls and other affected areas—residents are advised to drink fluids and stay indoors.
