- ➤ Merry Ruth Dingman has worked at the North Idaho State Fair since 1984 and organizes events such as the Mayor’s Chocolate Contest and Commissioner’s Apple Pie Contest. Each May, she and her husband water the fairgrounds' flowers every morning (starting at 5 a.m.) to keep long-standing traditions alive. Coeur d'Alene Press
- ➤ Post Falls American Legion Post 143 will host its inaugural Community Celebration on Aug. 23 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Post Falls Legion—offering a car show, crafts, barbecue, music, beer garden and games for kids to honor veterans and engage younger families. Coeur d'Alene Press
- ➤ The North Idaho State Fair now offers free admission—letting families and visitors enter without charge and enjoy the event. KXLY
- ➤ Camp Ka-Mee-Lin held a pirate day on Monday at Kiwanis Park where young campers shouted "Aye, aye, captain" and played with treasure that camp counselor Amber Anderson found to use in art projects. Camp director Craig Chambers said the camp uses these themes to help kids learn good traits and build friendships during the 11-week session. Coeur d'Alene Press
- ➤ Fire crews rescued two lost dogs separated from their family during Tuesday afternoon’s wildfire near Athol+ returning them safely to their owners after a search along Crosswhite Road. KXLY

- ➤ A video showing a stabbing spree was released (the footage is under review) and police are investigating the incident (more details are pending). KXLY
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Sen. Crapo said his office reviewed a housing survey conducted from March 31 to May 31, and many of the 5,000 Idahoans who responded reported that local wages did not keep pace with rising housing costs—he noted that expanding federal tax credits for affordable housing might help address the issue.
