- ➤ Joel Patrick Rose, 62, was sentenced Friday to 30 days in jail, a lifetime hunting ban, and $35,000 in fines for illegally killing a trophy elk during archery-only season in September 2024—his attempt to stage the kill by faking an arrow wound was exposed when he brought the animal to a taxidermist.
