- ➤ Multiple centers including Lake City Center, Hayden, Post Falls, Rathdrum, and Spirit Lake are offering senior meals with rotating menus and require reservations by calling the centers by set deadlines—Post Falls Senior Center requires a call the day prior between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. or by 10 a.m. on the day—and meals include options from chicken noodle soup to herb salmon and soft tacos. - ➤ Classic car owners will join the Miles for Smiles Classic Car Cruise and Car Show on Sept. 6 in Hayden to support the Hayden Senior Center. - ➤ Ten NIC students worked in the summer on biomedical research through the INBRE program—teaming with local labs and businesses to apply new techniques, while Gov. - ➤ The Sunset Fire burning northeast of Athol has burned 3,230 acres and led to evacuations as nearly 700 firefighters work to contain it. Officials warn that worsening weather with upper 80s to low 90s and low humidity will increase the risk of rapid spread — residents should heed closures along the west shore of Lake Pend Oreille and follow shelter orders at Cocolalla Bible Camp and the Bonner County Fairgrounds.
