- ➤ The North Idaho State Fair ended on Sunday and drew nearly 170,000 visitors with a hit rodeo, popular Budweiser Clydesdales, and record youth livestock sales—over 4,000 pounds of canned goods were collected for the local food bank. ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A fire in the 400 block of Timber Lane damaged two homes early Monday, and all residents escaped safely while Crystal and Eddie Ross lost much of their home and two vehicles—nearly $16,000 was raised on their GoFundMe by Monday evening. Coeur d'Alene Press
- ➤ A garage caught fire in Post Falls today—firefighters responded quickly and are investigating the cause. KXLY
- ➤ Firefighters contained a two-alarm house fire that involved a garage and an RV early this morning in Kootenai County—a heat advisory remains in effect until 9 PM PDT urging residents to drink fluids and avoid outdoor heat. KHQ
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ State lawmakers on the DOGE Task Force—formed to clean up and cut outdated state laws based on public feedback—plan to review these laws and may consider cutting Medicaid expansion to reduce spending. The group will reconvene on Sept 29 and Oct 23 to assess next steps. Coeur d'Alene Press

- ➤ Hayden Homes donated $10K to help start a program that will offer silent second mortgages to local homebuyers—funds managed by the Idaho Housing and Finance Association will jumpstart a marketing plan soon, making it easier for local workers and families to buy a home. Coeur d'Alene Press
