- ➤ The Idaho Educator Externship Program gives certified teachers a chance to gain hands-on STEM experience — Lakeland Joint School District 272 fifth-grade teacher Lisa Mashburn earned $5,000 and professional development credits while working with the Northwest Council for Computer Education to bridge classroom ideas with real-world work. ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Yesterday, Post Falls resident Benny Ramirez went fishing at Independence Point under cloudy skies as Lake Coeur d'Alene sat 7 inches below its normal summer level. The lake is expected to drop 9 inches by Labor Day—Avista said the discharge level will remain unchanged until after the holiday so boaters can keep enjoying lake activities. Coeur d'Alene Press
