- ➤ Gregg Johnson has filed a claim for $2.5 million against Kootenai County and Sheriff Bob Norris—he says his rights were violated when he was removed and his hands zip-tied at a town hall in Coeur d’Alene after speaking out in defense of another attendee. Coeur d'Alene Press
- ➤ Richard J. Rehl, 60, pleaded guilty to his seventh DUI after being pulled over in April and received a suspended two-year jail sentence along with two years of probation and a one-year license suspension — his breath tests showed levels nearly triple the legal limit. Coeur d'Alene Press
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ On Tuesday morning, thousands of students returned to school across North Idaho as teachers and staff welcomed them with traditional gestures—handing out apples and fist bumps.
