- ➤ Specialized Needs Recreation has launched its Building Belonging campaign to raise funds for a new campus that will offer more room for its social, artistic, and recreational programs in Coeur d'Alene. The nonprofit said the planned space may include an office, art center, sports courts + ample parking, with costs expected to be around $5 million depending on location and options. - ➤ Coeur d’Alene Fire Engineer Dave Tysdal, injured in a Canfield Mountain shooting, will soon leave the hospital as he shifts to outpatient care next week—he will relocate with his wife, Annie, and their children to Colorado while his home is modified for wheelchair access. KHQ
- ➤ A veteran Coeur d'Alene firefighter, Dave Tysdal, who was shot in an ambush on Canfield Mountain in late June, will leave his Colorado hospital next week for outpatient care at an apartment with his wife and children + he suffered a collapsed lung and spinal swelling and continues to work on regaining mobility.
