- ➤ Crews worked on Sunday to keep a seaplane afloat at Independence Point after a windstorm partially submerged it in Lake Coeur d'Alene—officials say the recovery is ongoing. Coeur d'Alene Press
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Jayden Murphy, a North Idaho College student training to be a teacher, received a $5,000 scholarship from the Department of Idaho Military Order of the Purple Heart—she can earn another $5,000 if she maintains strong academics. NIC, named a Purple Heart College in 2023, continues to support veteran families with its award program. Coeur d'Alene Press

- ➤ Kootenai County Sheriff Bob Norris is hosting a Coffee with Your Sheriff and Thanksgiving Food Drive event on November 13 in Post Falls to help local families have food on the table for Thanksgiving. Community members are invited to meet at North Idaho Arms at 4013 W. Riverbend Avenue at 10 a.m. — refreshments and a chance to drop off donations, which will be collected by Third Avenue Market Place Food Bank, will be available. KXLY
