He received quick help from Heritage Health’s Street Medicine program and community donations that moved him into stable housing—giving him a safe place to sleep and shower while he works to support his adult children.

STA launches a $1 fare program today to help low income riders save on their trips — the transit agency said the new program will increase access to affordable rides.

Schweitzer Mountain Resort will open its slopes tomorrow as cold temperatures enabled snowmaking for the 2025-26 season, with the Basin Express lift running from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on an intermediate trail while beginner terrain stays closed and lift tickets cost $55 (online and at the mountain).
