- ➤ Crews are working overnight to restore power for more than 3,000 customers after severe weather damaged transmission lines in areas including Hayden Lake, Bayview, Twin Lakes and the west side of Lake Coeur d’Alene; residents in Plummer, Harrison, Ogara and on the east side should expect outages for several days, with an update expected today. - ➤ Hayden, a local resident who overcame homelessness, received a new mattress and neck pillow through Press Christmas for All to ease chronic pain from a past car accident (donations covered costs insurance did not pay). - ➤ North Idaho College sophomore Victoria Rapier won contests for holiday wrapping paper and a T-shirt design for the new Teen Advisory Board. Her season-inspired work was chosen from 50 national entries and will be featured by Premier Press and on Bloomsday race day materials. Coeur d'Alene Press
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Idaho’s health insurance exchange Your Health Idaho ended open enrollment Monday night as thousands canceled plans ahead of federal subsidy cuts. Executive Director Pat Kelly warned that up to 20,000 more cancellations may occur before enrollment settles in April. The Spokesman-Review
