A 17-year-old hockey player from Coeur d’Alene Hockey Academy defied doctors’ predictions when a collision in Canada left him paralyzed from the neck, and he is now regaining movement in both his arms and legs while undergoing daily therapy at Shepherd Center in Atlanta—his family hopes he will return home by October.
Idaho State Police visited local athletes (Sandpoint, Hayden, and Post Falls) competing in the 2025 Special Olympics and surprised them with news that they will represent Idaho in next year's games in Minneapolis (each athlete received a gift to celebrate their selection).
